Macaroons

Yo! Yo! Who has life finally?! big ME!

So I just completed my last paper on Tuesday and so much YES to proper sleep. You won't know how much it meant to me that I can finally wake up without thinking about my assignment. Seriously it is so damn good feeling like that. For those of you who are still in the midst of exam, poor you! Haha! Ok, I am mean but my holidays are short, just 3 weeks in total before my winter school starts again. So its a win-win situation and most of you have like 7 weeks of crazy days until spring school starts again.

Anyway, yesterday is like a sleep-in day after the whole semester :) and today is a bit more interesting. Shopping day! :DD *double smiley faces to emphasize.

But... But ... bought nothing!!! Urgh! hate it! Because all the boots that I like, they don't have my sizes!!! So unfair.

But nevermind. Imma show you something good!! Behold!!

Macaroons!! Everyone's love <3 <3 I bought this for $12.50 - half dozen. It is not 'cheap' though.

I need to do some procedures before eating them. Take pics and show you guys how beautifool the colours are. Sorry for the blurred and unstriking colours coz took with my webcam. My camera was out of battery. Lazy to charge means lazy blogger. Lazy blogger means no visitors T____________T

Compensate you with some funny photos. Take with burst mode.

Makan & Yumcha Sessions

**Edited. Please scroll down!

I have some time to blog now! I'll be going to MIA again tomorrow, flying to Taiwan! Yayy!! When I am back, you may hear about my Taiwan trip. For now, I need to quickly blog before I am lazy or forget about them!

My birthday was very simple, a family dinner in Little Italy. Nothing to shout about! No presents :( like I did during our younger days. I was anticipating for presents more than the party. I am sure everyone was like that too! ;)

Dishes from Little Italy! Great! *Thumbs up

A few days before my birthday, I met up with two girls from my high school for lunch.

Three of us : yours truly, jenny, siew yie (nah, your big face..ahahha!)

Moonbell Restaurant in Gaya Street. Recommended anything with Lamb. *yummss..

And last Sunday yumcha session in Upperstar Lintas /yippie!

Nice sitting spot! Fits perfectly for 7 of us. I'd chose! ;) *Thank you camera man

Jenny - All the jokes were super funny especially the diary *inside joke

********

Another thing I want to share about is I've got a delivery yesterday.

(The postman came to my house but I wasn't at home. So they dropped a note in my mailbox to pick it up in the Post Office)

This morning, I woke up and saw a message from Pumpkin aka Trisha asking whether I received a parcel from Poslaju yet. Now I knew who was that. I was wondering since yesterday.

I went to the post office today because too anxious & curious at the same time. (I asked for a second delivery but told the fastest they could arrange is tomorrow. *sigh* I am not around already lorr..) A parcel deliver with Poslaju; must be something important.

Can't wait! And teared it once I got into my car!

Something I got from Topshop! hhhmmm...

The content inside : 2 briefs and a note. A little view of my feet.

I like them!! Some more got receipt inside. LOL! So I text-ed her and she told me she was rushing! Nevermind lah, not that I mind also! Asalkan dari hati yang ikhlas and that you remember me! Thank you so much pumpkin. *muaks* XOXO

Need to do my packing now! Happy holidays to me! And a great week ahead guys!

P/S : The underwear in pink & white, I am wearing it now. It feels super comfy! I think big bucks means big comfy! huhu..

Wednesday Dinner

As you all know, I am Home Alone today until Sunday my bro comes back.

I reached home around 6.10pm. The sky its already 90% dark and the lights at home isn't turn on yet. Super the scared! I checked whether any unusual things spotted and the surrounding in order.

Fuuhhh.
.. After all are well took my keys & opened the house door. Got in quickly and turned on the lights! Aha, I felt better by then.

Gave dinner for Tutu (my house dog) and water the plants. Still feeling scared ok because I was outside of the house.
*When see something moving straight away shot my head over and see properly!wtf!!

Settled down and thought what I wanted to have for dinner.

Since I have the whole time for myself I thought why not having such environment for once during my precious personal time?

WISHFUL thinking only!! HAHA! I don't have time to do such decoration at this moment. ERM..maybe maybe some day.

Anyway, guess what I had cooked?

Very Super easy preparation!

Carbonara pasta with Turkey ham & Bacon! Super good! No lie.

Tips : Apart from using the prepared cheese & mushroom sauce you got from grocery store, add extra milk, cheese & some sugar. Definitely it will taste much better!

Don't believe?

Now you do!

:D

Ladylike in Baju Kurung

I found out that I love reading blog than blogging myself! I can spend hours blog hopping and reading all sorts of topics/gossips/unrelated-post-about-me also blogs that I stumbled upon from somewhere! Sometimes I spend most of my time onlining reading blogs ONLY! That is ridiculous!

Breaking Fast is going to end pretty soon. In like 2 more days and that marks one month of fasting gone for the Malays. Huhu.. (*.*) *twinkle eyes* Remember I told you that I will find myself wearing Baju Kurung some time this week? This post is bringing you there :)

On Monday late noon, I started to dress up for Majlis Berbuka Puasa Sutera Harbour Resort. Not really a huge event but attended by TYT, CM and other "Pengarah" of those "Kementerian & Jabatan" Department. You know what I mean, don't you?

Very the malay aka Hari Raya feel!

The night started with welcoming (I am one of the usherettes), speeches & goodies presenting to the orphans.
The green baju melayu & baju kurung are officially sponsored by Sutera Harbour Resort.

After all the prayers and bacaan doa we were welcome by fooooood. *ooppss..too many OOOO.

Appetizer @ Pembuka Selera for the day. Table number 11! Wow, maybe lucky number!heheh!

This was served very early even before the official Buka Puasa time. I couldn't stand... I was so so hungry that I could even eat a
COW! hahaha!!

Pointing at my tongue which I had tasted the acar-acar

And I was caught eating!!! :S *sorry to those puasa-ing fellow Malays. I didn't mean anything! :(

All of it(appetizer @ pembuka selera) were gather in my plate and look like this.

TAA-DA!!! :) :) food ok.

Superb fried mi-hun! I *heart* it and I had second round! I was too shy to ask for the 3rd time so fine...forget about it! :(

Besides that, we were served some kind of drinks known as Air Bandung and I don't know the other one. Very colourful & scary at the same time.

Drinks that look like chemical. Just gotten process from the laboratory.

Continued by the Dome set. I don't know why is it called Dome.

I am genie in the bottle Dome

Anyway this is the Dome set. (No wonder I did some quotation requested of Dome Set Menu and they actually mean this. I thought Dome & Muhibbah Set are the same. Now I don't know what is Muhibbah Set Menu (-.-''') )*sweat

*Please rub rub me...to open up...~~~

All of it were gather in my plate and look like this.

*Look spicy~~

Eventually, the pembuka selera is nicer than Dome Set although Dome looked grand & impressive comparing then the rotan as plate & fruits craved in shapes to have a pleasant culinary! Tips of the day : Don't judge the book by its cover. Ok, so lame punya tips. what turffff...

the session continue
d with nasyid songs which I do not know how to enjoy and I can't comprehend what are they singing from the beginning until the end. Okay, this means I am not a Malay nor Muslim. So I can't tell what is Nasyid...because I never study or either bother to know.

Melayu Desserts....Nah... I ate none of them! Can you believe it? None! I just got a bite from a friend that's it. I was too full by then and wanted to get home really soon. It was 9.00pm already. Fuuhhh...LONG LONG DAY!!

The arch/decoration of the Majlis

Time to go home soon...sending the guest out of the hotel! Aha...this is me in Baju Kurung!

I borrowed from a colleague :) Suits me or not? Doesn't matter is for work only anyway. *comfort ladylike herself.

Buka Puasa @ Asia City

It is the time for Breaking Fast month. Missing Malay delicacies & cuisines? For those that are away from Malaysia, you will probably just enjoy the pictures. OOppss..I don't have pictures of food yet because too hungry ate them quickly, half way through only I got to remember no pictures taken!

Nevermind at least I am happy! I had Roti John & Cendol last week. Two Thumbs up! Might want to try something else this week. Another 2 weeks to go and it is time for celebration to the Malaysians not only for Malays :) This is what a great country is about when multi-racial citizens living together *peace & Public Holidays.

Have you visited any yet? You better do! Oh, don't forget your mask. Prevention is better than sorry; not that I wear either.. hehe :)

P/S : I might find myself in baju kurung next week. huhu...See if I get any pictures.

Happy Berbuka Puasa to all!

Chicago Top 10 Food Listing

This post had been sitting in my draft for so long! Fuhhh….finally people is up now! :)

Every single time I blog about Chicago, I get so excited & enthusiast. If you were to see me talking about it, i will have my body language all over & even people sitting a few tables away will want to have a glance of me. (I am that dramatic =p)

This food ranking is done solely by me according to my taste & savour. I may find it to be very very DEELICIOUSS & scrumptious, but you might not because you may have not the same taste as I do.

However I am sure, this is America. Everything should & must be nice. No tolerance / No assumption, all must be at the standard.

Let’s do the count down from 10 :) I supposed this should be the right number. Fyi, all food are absolutely delectable but this listing by me is those that I picked out from every single food I tried to be in the top 10.

#10 McDonald

I know you will wonder why of all is McDonalds! The thing is McD is much more appetizing than any ever McD we could taste in Msia. Trust me not? The beef is that juicy & tender. USD 5 for a meal. Very reasonable for them. Even McValue Lunch cannot be RM5. Wth!

#9 Starbucks

Fuhh!! Again another why of all is Starbucks? Well, this is where starbucks was born. Definitely, you have to take this opportunity to experience the originality of it.

Slurping away in Starbuck, Deerbrook.

The generous Starbuck sandwich! Overlapping ham & thick cheese!

In USA, starbucks is very reasonable & act as Kopitiam in USA. But Malaysians have treated Starbucks as luxury coffee & hang outs to the higher class people.

#8 Italian Kitchen

I dropped by quiet late, when the restaurant was near to closing. But we were greeted very friendly by the waitress which made us sited at a corner. She was still willing to serve us and the kitchen was not packing up yet, so we were still able to place our order. Lucky!

Clockwise : #1 Meat Lasagna (Price not available : forgot) #2 King Cut Strip Steak $18.95 #3 Seafood Risotto $17.95

Description :-

1 Meat Lasagna - Layers of homemade noodles nestled between ricotta, ground sirloin & seasonings, topped with cheese and baked. " A solid brick of flavor"

2 King Cut Striap Steak - Hand trimmed, garlic parmagiana crusted, NY strip steak. Served with a side of pasta.

3 Seafood Risotto - creamy Italian Rice topped with mussels, clams & shrimp

#7 Ilfornio Pizza

750 Osterman Ave.

Deerfield, IL 60015

Nothing special though. However better still comparing Pizza Hut or Domino’s or Shakey’s Pizza. MMmm… I should recommend Giordano Pizza. Best known in Chicago for it is cook with firewood. I only came across that restaurant in city but the time was approaching evening which I had to catch a train back home.
Please note, every pizza that you order, you need to allocate 45minutes for the pizza to be served.

Look this is baked potato portion for 1 person only. As big as our palms. CRAZY!

Locate the nearest outlet to you and prepare your order here.

# 6 Riva Restaurant

Oyster! Sekalian yang amat suka osyter ini boleh membunuh! Terlalu sedap. For me, I don't really know how to eat oyster so can't comment much. Like my dad, oyster fan! So he knows very well. The price for per piece is $6

The only fine dining restaurant I had in my entire trip. Its costly though but at least one try like my dad said. We travel all the way, passing through the Pacific Ocean, why not experience once in our lifetime? Right?

# 5 Applebee’s

I ate this in Milwaukee. Yay! Fabulous. The interior design are quite similar with TGIFriday. Many frames filled the wall and the cosy feel. When I was going through the menu, I could not decide what to eat because I wanted to try every single dish. OH MY GOODNESS!

Really luring! Applebees [dot] com. The melting cheese…ArGh! Americans really love the meat to be overcooked with black spots. They find them to be very yummy, but for health conscious please do inform waiter upon placing your order.

I actually ordered a drink - ??? but when I tasted it, I find it to be awful. No worries! You can change without charges!!! WITHOUT ok. This is USA!! :))))))) They replaced in with Sparkling Kiwi. Very GOOD!

# 4 Boston Market

Surprisingly, this is the only place that serve small portion in Chicago! In Malaysia, we find it to be normal, hello, but not in America, this could not even filled ¼ of their stomach. Here is one of the place that I found my love for best beef brisket. *slurp* Talking about the gravy, ah man! I always believed gravy makes very much difference once it is added. Even if you had a tight budget in food spending, with $5 you could have a number of favourites to choose from.

Read more at bostonmarket dot com.

It is a chain restaurant, so you could locate them in other states than in Chicago.
Here is the particular place that I had dined in.

Boston Market #152

Lake Cook & Waukegan S/SWC
160 C South Waukegan Road
Deerfield, IL 60015

# 3 Stoney River Legendary Steak House

Never taste mashed sweet potatoes! I've got that....very sweet indeed. No sugar added. It is original sweeeetttt like me. ;P

OH MYYYY!!! Rib eye?! Lamb rib? This is the place to the American steak serving. If you don’t get to eat anything of that, your holiday is not complete! And service is absolutely not a factor.

Also, these bun are the most amazing I've ever tasted! It is complimentary, even when you asked to refill 23872964 times also free!

Extracted from the internet “Steak and seafood dominate the menu of this inviting steakhouse, with a wood and stone interior and fireplace that set a comfortable, elegant tone. The restaurant features more than 40 wines by the glass.” (And it is true. You know what? Apparently, the reviews & pictures you see online is exactly what you will experience when you are physically there!)

Address as below:-
20504 N. Rand Rd.

Deer Park, IL 60010-7234

# 2 : Apparently no number two. Read down.

# 1 Portbelly Sandwiches

& Chicago Chinatown, Dim Sum.

These are two different cuisines and both stands for Top 1. I could not tell which one is better because both appealed to be the greatest :) Really not convincing when I looked at the food captions & menu. But once my tongue attacked them, I totally felt the “Wow” effect!

Portbelly's Oreo Smoothie! Tremble down the chair I sat.

I really find them to be easy as for chain restaurants; they publish the exact menu you will see when you arrived at the restaurant. The on-going promotions and what is new in the menu can be retrieved online. See how interesting is that.

Small meal in Target! But really filling! Can't even finish the salad. $6 per packet. Gotta have that take away! I love that MILK!!! yum yum!!

Well, I almost listed out the good ones with link some more. Easier for you to plan your gourmet trails in Chicago.
